One of the best ways to capture the essence of a place, to understand and to share the life of its inhabitants, is through its gastronomy. Deborah's Culinary Island opens the doors to the culinary landscape of Mallorca, offering the chance to experience first hand our marvelous local products, our typical dishes, our complex culinary identity and all in all, our mediterranean flavour.
The perfect combination is to eat and to discover. For a truly unique culinary experience in Mallorca, I offer adventures that combine the joys and pleasures of gastronomy with the exploration of new cultural and human environments.
In the pantry we have now a new food adventure for you to discover the most genuine Mallorcan gastronomy while tasting and enjoying our local specialities. Every Thursday morning starting in September we will be offering an open group for the Palma market tour combined with a Traditional cooking workshop at my atelier.
Located in the center of Palma, only 10 minutes away from my atelier, Mercado del Olivar is the largest typical market in the city. This stroll will allow you to delve in its vibran Mediterranean atmosphere. We will go through its fruit, fish and other delicacies stall, meet the vendors and source some of the ingredients that we need for our workshop.
Once in my atelier, we will start a hands-on cooking workshop to prepare a complete Mallorcan seasonal menu together. Including an aperitif, a starter, a main a dessert and of course local wine.
The menu changes with the season, so you can experience the genuine Mallorcan food calendar and discover different artisan food producers depending on which time of the year you are visiting Mallorca.
The groups are small to keep this experience very intimate.
